The statement that characterizes an advantage and disadvantage the Union had during the Civil War is option A. A larger army, but fewer exports.

During the American Civil War which spanned from 1861 to 1865, the Union, also called the North, referred to the United States of America and specifically to the national government of President Abraham Lincoln and the 20 free states, along with 4 border and slave states.

"A larger army, but fewer exports" would b the best option from the list, since the South's agricultural output was massive, but this was hardly a large disadvantage in the long-run.
