Subtract 25 from each side of that equation, and it says that x-squared = negative 25. 'X' can't be any real number. If you know how to work with imaginary numbers, you'll know that the two solutions are x=5i and x=-5i ... the ' i ' is the symbol meaning the square root of -1 .
