The population of the US is about 320 million which is 10 times as much as Canada's population which is equal to around 32 million,

The number of zeroes increased by one because when anything is multiplied by 10, it gains a 0.

if Canada's population is 1/10 of the US, that means US population is 10 times more than Canada's population. So you have to do 32 million × 10. Whenever you multiply any number by 10, you just add a 0 at the end, so the answer is 320,000,000.
