By finding the number patterns you simply have to divide 360 by 120 to get the least common multiple of the two given numbers. Instead of analysing the number patterns to get the least multiple, you do it quickly through division of the two given numbers. So let's divide 360 by 120. That will give us 3. When you breakdown the two numbers separately into by 3s, it will still give you whole numbers. Say for example, 360/3, that is 120, 120/3, that is 40. Although both are divisible by 6, 6 is not considered the least common multiple of the two.
