Before you look for the answer, you need to know clearly what the question is.
I'm not sure you're quite there yet.

The 'solution' (answer) to an equation is a number, or a set of numbers, that you can write in place of all the variables (letters) in the equation, and then have an equation with only numbers in it that's a true statement.

Your equation has two variables in it . . . 'x' and 'y' . A solution is a pair of numbers that you can write in place of 'x' and 'y' and wind up with a statement that's true.

There are an infinite number of pairs that can do that. Here are a few of them:

x=-2 ... y=-5
x=-1 ... y=-3
x=0 .... y= 1
x=1 .... y= 7
x=2 .... y=11
