8/3 as a mixed number is 2 2/3 because 3 goes into 8 2 times since 3x2=6 and 6 goes into 8. 2 times since 8-6=2 the answer would be 2 2/3

8/3 as a mixed number is 2 2/3.

How?

Well... First you would want to divide. How many times does 3 go into 8? 2, giving you your whole number.

Since 3 times two is six, and eight minus six is two, that left over amount of two becomes your numerator.

And since you keep your original numerator when turning an improper fraction into a mixed fraction, 3 would be your denominator for the mixed faction. Giving you 2 2/3

I'm not sure if you had wanted an explanation, but I hope this helped. :)
