An easier way to do this would be by decimals. 3/4 converts to 0.75 as a decimal. A square has equal sides so you have four 0.75. Now just multiply 0.75 by four, and you get 3ft as the perimeter.

a-length\ of\ side\ of\ a\ square\\perimeter\ of\ a\ square:P_{\fbox{}}=4\cdot a\\------------------------\\a=(3)/(4)\ ft\\\\therefore\\\\P_{\fbox{}}=4\cdot(3)/(4)\ ft=\\ot4^1\cdot(3)/(\\ot4_1)\ ft=1\cdot(3)/(1)\ ft=\boxed{3\ ft}
