a machine packs boxes at a constant rate of 2/3 of a box every 1/2 minute. what is the number of boxes per minute that the machine packs?

(2/3)/(1/2) =
(n)/(1)
So 1/2n = 2/3

Double the left side (or multiply by 2/1 the reciprocal of 1/2) to get rid of the fraction and you get:
n=4/3 or n= 1 1/3
