Nationalist conflict in Haiti has resulted in "economic turmoil" among other things. This is primarily due to the fact that for there to economic prosperity, there needs to be an agreed upon economic plan, which does not exist.

The correct answer is economic turmoil

When Haiti became liberated, there was a lot of issues with various factions on how Haiti should proceed as an independent free nation. This caused a lot of infighting and corruption and similar things and the country's economy suffered severely since they didn't have a unified economic plan. The economy of the country was better before the nationalistic tendencies, but at least they had their freedom.
