Multiply and put in simplest form:

2x(4x+5) ANSWER= 8x^2+10x

Why is 8x squared?

Because you're multiplying
2x by
4x.
2*4 is
8,
x*x is
x^2[tex], and [tex]8*x^2 is
8^2. Since you're multiplying them all together, it doesn't matter what order you multiply them in. For example,
2*x=2x,
x*4=4x, and [2x*4x=8x^2[/tex] (but that's just the same.)
