President Wilson's Fourteen Points were not incorporated in the Treaty of Versailles because the Allied delegates wanted Germany to pay reparations for the war. Georges Clemenceau, the French prime minister, was especially concerned with giving Germany big reparations for the damage caused in France during World War I. Wilson's points were seen as peaceful and since he became physically ill during the Treaty of Versailles, Clemenceau was able to push his ideas and disregard the Fourteen Points.
