A population of pigs lives on an island together with burrowing termites. Pigs that have the longest snouts tend to survive better. Over time, most of the pig population is made up of individuals that have very long snouts. This is an example of which type of selection?

The answer is directional selection. It happens when a phenotype is favored among other phenotypes. This gives favorable condition to the organism which has the different kind of phenotype. This applies to the pigs that have the longest snouts which survive better that those who doesn't.
