“If I have seen farther than others,” said Newton, “it is because I have stood on the shoulders of giants.” Could this be said of most scientific accomplishments? Explain.

This is of course somewhat of a subjective question, but in general most would agree that yes, this is true of most scientific accomplishments since all of these usually happen thanks to the accomplishments of those who came before.
