How did the Enlightenment lead to a more secular outlook?

It lead to more of a secular outlook because the Enlightenment was all about finding problems through reason and science. Secular means that things that have no religious activity or anything closely related to religion. Instead of focusing on religion, the Enlightenment was about focusing on reason and science.
