Jackson Pollock's innovation was a pour and drip technique that relies only on a linear structure. Because of this his painting are also refereed to as "drip" paintings.

Answer:

In this painting, like most of Pollock´s work during that time (1947-1952) is one of his most notable works in which he employs the technique of poured-painting, which is Pollock´s greatest innovation;it consists in pouring paint through a controlled stream, pouring it straight out of paint cans or using sticks or heavily loaded brushes. As he would do this, the canvas, which was unprimed, would lie on the floor. This work of art is part of the permanent collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
