Binary fission is a method of asexual reproduction in prokaryotes such as bacteria. The advantages of binary fission is that this process requires only one individual. Secondly, it is a fast process of division as some in some of the bacteria divides in every 20 minutes. Binary fission produces offspring without genetic variation.
