A is right because BCD are wrong.

A would be correct because the sentence should end with a period not just the quotation.
As another example it would be, "Sally, please go to the store," John shouted, "I need some aspirin."
As opposed to. "Sally, please go to the store." John shouted. "I need some aspirin."
