Analyze the successes and failures of the United States Cold War policy of containment as it developed in TWO of the following regions in the world during the period 1945-1975. East and Southeast Asia, Europe, Latin America, Middle East.

In terms of the US containment policy towards communism in Latin America, many historians would agree it was a success, mostly because it was so within the Americans' sphere of direct influence. In East and Southeast Asia, however, it was a different story, as the wars in Korea and Vietnam proved to be dramatic failures.
