so use distributive property
a(b+c)=ab+ac or in this case
(a+b)(c+d)=(a+b)(c)+(a+b)(d)=ac+bc+ad+bd



so
multiply each
(x-2)(3x+5)=(x-2)(3x)+(x-2)(5)=3x^2-6x+5x-10= add like terms 3x^2-x-10
