72-42=30
percent of change= amount of change/original amount
percent of change=30/42
Percent of change= 0.71428
Percent of change=71.4%

First, we subtract the two numbers.
72 - 42 = 30
Now we divide this to the original number.
30 / 42 =
0.71428571428
Multiply by 100:
71.428571428
So the percent increase is approximately 71.43%
