Why do you think the U.S. didnt open a trade route to China until after the Revolutionary War?

While many potential reasons exist the most likely is that while under the rule of England the colonies had access to British trade routes and did not need to establish their own.

They where not free to do what they wanted because they were still in rule of the British and they needed to finish the war before moving on or the will have to many things to worry about at once
