Because 1 cm _ _ _ 2 metres ; 0.5 cm _ _ _ 1 metres ;
1.5 cm _ _ _ 3 metres.

1cm=2m therefore 1.5cm=3 meters because .5 is half of 1 and 1 is half of 2 enjoy!=)
