Shay's rebellion was a revolt by people living in Western Massachusetts who felt they were unfairly taxed and were spending a lot more money than they were being paid to pay diverse funds for the government. The main causes for the up rise were economic terrorism by the government which was seen as very far away from rural areas and corruption by the government. This then showed the American government that they needed a stronger government to handle revolts from the citizens, which was something they needed a stronger handle over in their opinion.
