For this case we have the following expression:

3 (2)/(3) + 2(2)/(3)
We can Rewrite the expression, as the sum of fractions with the same denominator.
Rewriting the expression we have:

(9+2)/(3) + (6+2)/(3)

(11)/(3) + (8)/(3)
Then, adding both fractions we have:

(11+8)/(3) = (19)/(3)

We have to add 3 2/3 + 2 2/3 using fraction strips. 3 2/3 and 2 2/3 are the mixed numbers. The mixed numbers consists of a whole number and a fraction. If we want to add those numbers we shoukld change them into improper fractions: 3 2/3 = ( 3 * 3 + 2 ) / 3 = 11 / 3; 2 2/3 = ( 2 * 3 + 2 ) / 2 = 8 / 3. Finally: 11 / 3 + 8 / 3 = ( 11 + 8 ) / 3 = 20 / 3 = 6 2/3. Answer: You reneme it turning them into improper fractions.
