so 8 yards
2 yards per piece
2 times number of legs=8
divide both sdies by 2
number of legs=8/2=4
4 legs, assuming he doesn'e make mistakes or cut too much sawdust

4 legs assuming he doesn't use any of the piece of wood for the actual flat part.
