You don't really approve of the idea of political parties. However, you're known as a Federalist and are soon associated with that party. Chances are good that your name is A. Thomas Jefferson.

Washington never believed in parties (which he called 'factions') but he supported most of the Federalist's ideas. Jefferson and Madison founded the Anti-Federalist party which is now the Democratic Party. Lincoln came along LONG after the Federalist Party was defunct.
