The group that painted the animals in the Lascaux cave were homo sapiens. There is evidence that the paintings in the Lascaux cave in southern France shows the homo sapiens which came to Europe from Africa had developed more sophisticated drawing techniques than earlier revolutions of mankind. These were paintings of animals, rather than the non-figurative paintings that can be seen in earlier cave art.
