Britian did impressment, or the capturing of american sailors and forcing them to work in the British navy. They would also use the excuse to search for "deserters" or runaways from the British army, but most times would take american born people, who had lived in the US there whole lives. Also, Britain would search and capture any ships caught trading with France This caused lots of anger and thats why the war hawks wanted war. This eventually made the war of 1812.
