40 Spools are produced each day

10 are thrown away

The fraction that represents how much has been thrown away is;

= (10)/(40) \\ \\ = (1)/(4) \\ \\ = 0.25

To get a percentage we multiply the decimal by 100, so;

0.25 * 100

= 25%
