Why for thousand of years people believed that stars moved across earth sky

Because they did not have the proper technology. Hope my answer was useful.

Because the earth rotates. and the stars and constellations are in their exact same spots in the universe. its the same as the sun. some people can argue that the sun moves east to west, but in reality, its because the earth is rotating. :)

btw, this is more like an earth science question, not chemistry.
