so assume that 24 is 100%
what percent is 78
24 times 3=72
get close to the number
78-72=6
find the remainder
6=1/4 of 24
figure out the fraction
3-1+1/4=2 and 1/4
2=200%, 1/4=25%
the answer is 225%
