What made Boston a likely place for fighting to begin between colonists and British soldiers

Although Virginia was the first colony Boston is where the majority of the politicians were. British Soldiers were in Boston to control the colonies and the majority were stationed in Boston because it was a huge port. When the king started to oppress the colonist many of the local politicians in Boston began to fight back making it a hot spot for the revolution.
