How does the CONSTANT affect a line graph?

In a simple slope intercept formula: y=mx+b, b is the constant, because b is not affect by another varible. To make this easier to understand, say we have the equation y=2x+9. No matter what x and y are, b or the 9 in this case will never change. You will ALWAYS be adding that nine. Therefore, it is the constant.
