The scale is 4 ft.per inch. (48 in. to every one inch)
To start off, we know that for every 1.5 inch, there is 6ft. (72 inches)
Divide 72 by 1.4 and get 48 inches by 1
or simple take 6ft and divide it by 1.5 inch.

Answer:

1 : 4

Explanation:

A scale is a diagrammatic representation of a real-size object on paper.

Let's look at the question again:

height of man in the photograph = 6 ft

height of man on paper = 1.5 inch

scale will be: 1.5 inch to 6 ft

but we want the scale in the lowest terms, so

1.5 : 6

dividing by 1.5 gives

(1.5)/(1.5) \\= 1

(6)/(1.5) \\= 4

so the scale will be 1 : 4

In other words, 1 inch on paper will be 4 ft in real life.
