Well, it is said that there was a dragon by a lake who terrorized everyone around the lake. It was only kept at bay by human sacrifce, until it was the King’s daughter’s turn. Before she was devoured shewas rescued by a hero who slayed the dragon with his lance. Now The modern animal that might have been the inspiration for the dragon is The Nile Crocodile.
