Answer: explains who is to make sure the act is obeyed.

The Americans with Disabilities Act (1990) is a civil rights law that prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities. This is similar to the protections provided by the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

In this excerpt, the text explains that the federal government is required to ensure that the provisions of the act are respected and enforced.
