If the pool must be filled to 3636 gallons in 4848 hours, the water must be flowing in at a net rate of 3/43/4gallon per hour. The input supplies 33 gallons, so the output must be 3−3/4=9/43−3/4=9/4 gallons per hour.

I hope my answer has come to your help. God bless and have a nice day ahead!

Answer:

The answer is 9/4 hours per gallon.

Explanation:

As given, the water is pumped into a 36 gallon pool at an average rate of 3 gallons per hour.

So, to fill the pool 36 gallons per 48 hours, the net rate should be =
(36)/(48)=(3)/(4) gallons per hour

The inflow gives 3 gallons, so the outflow will be=

3-(3)/(4)

=
(12-3)/(4)=(9)/(4) gallons per hour.

So, the answer is 9/4 hours per gallon.
