Answer: The purpose of cell cycle is- repair, and reproduction of cells.

The cell cycle is a cycle of a series of events that cells undergo through in order to divide and form new daughter cells. It is primarily divided into- 1) Interphase ( that possesses G1, S, and G2 phase), which is a phase of growth and replication of DNA and 2) M phase ( division of cell takes place).

Cell cycle is used in the repair of tissues that have have become damaged or injured as it is used in production of new cells the are identical to the parent cell.

Therefore, reproduction and repair is the purpose of cell cycle.
