The Industrial Revolution began in the North. It began there for many reasons. One of them was the Free Enterprise System where people could buy, sell, and produce whatever they want; as long as it was legal. The North needed to make money, and since they had poor soil, they came up with other ways to make it. That is why it started in the U.S.
