What generally happens when the Senate and the House of Representatives pass different versions of the same bill? The president signs the version he prefers. The two legislative bodies form a conference committee. The Senate’s version of the bill is sent to the president. The bill goes back to each chamber's committee and restarts the legislative process. The bill is put online so the citizens can vote on it.
