The answer is x = 15

(x + 10) = (4x - 35)

Drop the parentheses
x + 10 = 4x - 35

Subtract x from both sides
x + 10 - x = 4x - 35 - x
10 = 3x - 35

Add 35 on both sides:
10 + 35 = 3x - 35 + 35
45 = 3x

Divide both sides by 3:
45/3 = 3x/3
15 = x

Hence, x = 15
