A cylinder and a cone have the same diameter: 8 inches. The height of the cylinder is 9 inches. The height of the cone is 18 inches.

Use π = 3.14.

vcylinder=hpir^2
d/2=r
8/2=r=4
h=9
v=9*3.14*4^2
v=9*3.14*16
v=452.16
that is cylinder

vcone=1/3(hpir^2)
vcone=1/3(9*3.14*4^2)
Vcone=3*3.14*16
Vcone=159.72

relationship betweeen 452.16 and 159.72
452.16/159.72=3/1

the volume of a cylinder is 3 times that of a cone (with same dimensions), aka
the volume of a cone is 1/3 of that of a cylinder (with same dimensions)
