The earth spins in space, on the side facing the sun, it is daytime, summer, nighttime, or winter. (i know the answer is not winter or nighttime).

the answer is daytime the side facing away is night
season has nothing to do with what side is facing the sun but rather how far away we are from the sun

That would be daytime.  Summer and Winter are affected by the wobble of the Earth's hemispheres on its axis, not by whether or not it is sunny outside on that portion of Earth at a given time.
