The given statement is False.

To preserve the forests of the planet funding must be equally granted to all the forests and not only the tropical rain-forests. Though the tropical rain-forests provide the highest levels of oxygen, other forests must be granted funding as they tropical forests are not found everywhere and thus they produce oxygen for all living beings. Other forests also play an important role in the conservation of biodiversity. Thus they should be funded equally to protect against the deforestation.
