Describe how a volcano is formed at a Continental Rift. Be sure to include, in your description, what is occurring at the plate boundary.

At a plate boundary, magma slowly pushes up via convection currents between two plates and cools, forming a ridge that gets taller and forms a volcano. As more magma flows to the surface, it cools and makes new layers of crust and pushes the older crust away, therefore moving the plate.
