Well if you want both in a sentence, an example would be:
The peculiar bump on my car's tire protrudes like a pimple, ready to pop.
If you want separate, the word Peculiar: There was something peculiar about the new girl at school. The was too quiet.
If you want separate, the word Protrude: His black eye protruded from his face as it throbbed and oozed.
