P.E.M.D.A.S. Parentheses, Exponents, multiplication or division, addition or subtraction. 5 x 4 = 20. 2 + 3 = 5. 5 - 4 + 20. 5 - 4 = 1. 1 + 20 = 21. The answer is 21.
