Convert a fraction to a decimal by taking 1 and dividing it by the denominator, and it will give you a number. That number you will take and multiply by the numerator to give you a value.

You convert a decimal by doing the exact opposite of what i just told you. Multiply, then divide.

Let's say we have the fraction
(1)/(2).

To turn the fraction into a decimal, you want to take the denominator and divide it into the numerator. In this case, the denominator is 2 so we will create a divison problem and it will be 1 ÷ 2 = 0.5

↑ This method will always work ↑

Let's say we have the decimal 0.3 and we want to turn that decimal into a fraction. You can see that there is 1 digit to the right of the decimal which means that the 3 is located in the tenths place. What you want to do is put the decimal over 1 so
(0.3)/(1) and then multiply the top and the bottom by 10. If there is two digits after the decimal point, multiply it by 100 and if there is 3, multiply it by 1,000.

(0.3)/(1) ×
(10)/(10) =
(3)/(10).
