Why is the chloroplast green

Chloroplast are green because they contain "chlorophyll" which is green substance. Now to answer your question in a broader sense chloroplast are green because when white light is shown on them they absorb every other color and reflect green.

because the color green is the color that reflects off of the chlorophyll an goes into our eyes. Hope this helps!
