Peacekeepers can monitor and observe peace processes in post-conflict areas and implement peace agreements. This is a pro of being a peacekeeper in the UN as you get to observe the peaceful processes created in zones of ex-conflict. A con of peacekeeping is that sometimes peacekeepers turn out to do the exact opposite and actually harm the populations, instead of helping them, such as spreading diseases or committing crimes against the populations they should be protecting.
